Smoking is a destructive habit, but the fact remains that (even knowing it) nobody can quit easily. The level of dependence that is created is frankly startling.
This iPhone App aims to make a definitive contribution towards freeing oneself (cold turkey) from such a habit. Pros and cons of iQuit - Stop Smoking Counter app for iPhone and iPad
iQuit - Stop Smoking Counter app good for
I tried to quit many times, usjng patch, laser, pills, etc. but none of these method worked as well as this stupid apps.
3$ is pretty cheap to try a different way of quitting, and if somehow I restart smoking, Ill still have this app to try again later.
Having this app has been great and i havent smoked in almost 3 months. I do have 1 major complaint though; the update i received erased my quit smoking date, time, etc so i had to put in when i think the day i quit was. The updated user interface also doesnt work correctly now. A useful tool no the less.
So far this app is performing as it should. I wish it had more bells and whistles... But I knew when I bought it that it was limited.
Works just like I expected it to. Once all my info was in I clicked "Save" and it kept all my settings
Havent had any issues with this since I quit. Good luck to those still cigarette free.
I read the reviews and Im thinking there may be a bit of user error with others. Click on the little "i" to make edits... as you would other iPhone apps. This tool rocks! I ALWAYS have my phone with me and I think its great to be able to click on the app and see my progress... see what I could be throwing away if I take just ONE puff. Take the pledge: I will NOT smoke today NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS! It has never helped me in my life and I Pledge to remain FREE FROM NICOTINE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS! Then take a glance at your counter and pat yourself on the back!!! Then do it tomorrow and as many times as you need to. This is a small investment in light of all you have to gain.
I Wish You Success in Advance!!!
N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Ever!)
Some bad moments
Theres free apps that do just this. Its a simple formula. What would make it stand out is if it would account for the price over time. A pack of smokes when I started was 2.99 and today is 10 bucks but the program only uses the 10 and says Ive saved well over 100k which is not nearly a close guess. If I keep using this app, in a year or two they will surely be 12 bucks and more... If they could add fields for price at start, price when quit and current price and a calculation that accounts for this though not exact would be a more useful reflection of my habit. You could argue inflation but Id argue that it should account for that too lol!
Also a field for time spent. I cant see how they determine the time I spend smoking. I smoke regulars and my pal smokes kings. Hes always about 2 minutes longer during a smoke break. I would love to see a field I could set for this because this calculation could be considered close to real and Id really like to know.
If the main focus of the app is day by day counting Id like to see it more customizable for this price.
Otherwise theres free apps that do what this does and weve allready wasted enough money smoking...
Thanks for the update that erased original quit day and time..remaining smoke free has absolutely nothing to do with this app. And now because of the update I have 63% of 9 months but 0% of a year? What sort of crazy math is that?
Simple app - over priced - stats no longer work or calculate on health screen
The default is Jan 1, 1980. Unless you actually quit on this day it is very difficult to change the date. I did manage to change the date, but not sure exactly how and cannot reproduce it.
Also, it calculates the the time quit in weeks, days, etc. - not month, day, etc which is easier for the mind to visualize.
Several hours later...EVEN WORSE THAN I THOUGHT..when it is turned off it reverts back to the default of Jan 1, 1980 so it is a worthless app
When I close and reopen, the quit date is reset to the default date. That means you have you re-enter those details each time you open the app to see accurate data.
This would be disappointing in a free app, but is unforgivable in one youre asking $2 for.
After the iOS5 update, some of my app data was lost. No big deal for the most part, but this stupid app reset itself to say I quit in 1980 and there is NO WAY to change it! Who doesnt give you the option to change the only thing in this app that you put in yourself? Ive even deleted and redownloaded it.. No go. Thanks for the piece of crap as well as overpriced app, jerks. ):
